US Department of Defense (DoD) Branch of Service
ICON supported the development of the Workspace Management (WSM) Program to standardize Service-wide facility utilization. WSM was selected by the Pentagon as one of the top 50 money-saving initiatives. Services provided by ICON included:
- Led project design and management teams and facilitated nationwide participation
- Developed standard processes and business rules for space planning, infrastructure build out, and seat move management
- Designed organizational structures, roles and responsibilities, resource requirements, and communication and training materials
- Designed how-to manual for implementing WSM at the site level
- Led development of winning business case
Nonprofit
ICON led a national organization of university financial aid specialists through a strategic visioning planning effort that redirected their mission and vision following a change in law. ICON designed and facilitated the approach and specific exercises to identify:
- Constituent requirements to implement the new law
- National organization’s strengths and weaknesses
- Organizational transformation plan
US DoD Branch of Service Headquarters
The US Navy implemented the largest intranet in the world to support all shore-based activities. ICON supports the management of all desktop and Enterprise IT services for one system command, encompassing over 35,000 users. Services provided by ICON included:
- Piloted and implemented technology and process transformations
- Developed and tested requirements for business management tools
- Managed order submission and tracking fulfillment
- Oversaw site transitions
- Trained and communicated to management and users
Large Midwestern University
ICON was brought in to reengineer business processes and to develop requirements for a system to support Financial Aid (FA) management. Based upon ICON’s approach to involve representatives from all interfacing business process, the results of the project not only fed the FA system development effort, it also kicked off reengineering projects for Student Accounting and Scholarship/Fellowship business units.
Telecommunications Company
ICON led process, business rule, and data modeling efforts to improve the management of Directory Advertising Bad Debt. This success led to reengineering the Business Marketing Operations process, which led to a Finance and Accounting Process Modeling and Regionalization Project which led to a complete strategic planning and corporate reengineering effort of all primary business processes. As this company transitioned through several mergers, ICON was brought back in to help negotiate the derivation of one set of Directory Client Services processes, addressing a new vision for Customer Relations.
